Ottawa GM Bryan Murray is hoping to move up in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft.
The Senators own the 17th overall pick in the draft and he's already started to talk with organizations about flipping choices or players. "I don't know if anybody will consider that, but I know as you get closer to the draft, if you have a pick very high up, it's very hard to make the decision to move back," he said. "I'm not thinking that will happen, but we at least have to make the calls and to suggest we're open to talk." He should continue those discussion at the general managers' meetings in Boston on Wednesday.

The Ottawa Senators will call their home building, which was previously dubbed Scotiabank Place, the Canadian Tire Centre after announcing a new eight-year agreement on Tuesday.
"Canadian Tire is an iconic brand and is one of the largest hockey retailers in the world," Senators owner Eugene Melnyk said in a news release. "That represents a unique opportunity for both of our organizations to work side-by-side on a wide range of new marketing and community initiatives that will be good for our business, our hockey team and most of all, our fans."

The Ottawa Senators have talked to captain Daniel Alfredsson about returning for another season, but the veteran forward hasn't made a decision yet regarding his future.
"We have talked, I've talked to Alfie in the past couple of days," GM Bryan Murray said Tuesday. "I told him to take whatever time he needs and come back to me when you can -- as early as you can, that would help me -- but do whatever you have to do to satisfy your family to make sure you're ready to play." Alfredsson can become an unrestricted free agent on July 5, but if he decides to return then a contract should come together quickly with Ottawa.
